Legislation Information
The Legislative Committee plays a vital role in representing TAVNE’s interests in statewide nursing policy and advocacy efforts. Committee members are appointed by the Executive Board and are expected to attend two Executive Board meetings per year, in addition to the Annual TAVNE Conference.
Legislative Committee Membership
The committee shall include, at a minimum:

Legislative Committee Chair
Legislative Liaison to the Texas Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition (NLAC)
Responsibilities

Promote awareness and engagement in legislative matters relevant to vocational nursing education.

Represent TAVNE as a member of the Texas Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition (NLAC), a committee under the Texas Nurses Association (TNA).

Communicate timely legislative updates and action items to the TAVNE membership.
Representation on External Committees
The TAVNE President may periodically appoint representatives to serve on external professional organizations and committees, including but not limited to:
